This project supports the Arkansas Department of Education in building a stronger digital foundation that enhances access to timely, reliable information for Arkansas communities.
The Opportunity
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) has an opportunity to strengthen how educators, families, students, and other constituents access clear, timely, and reliable information through its web presence. As the agency’s scope has expanded, including growth related to statewide transformation and Early Childhood programs, its website and connected digital platforms have also become more complex. This discovery process will help identify ways to improve content organization, navigation, accessibility, brand consistency, and governance so that users can more easily find the information and resources they need.
The Support
Through a collaborative discovery phase, Mighty Citizen will support the Southwest Comprehensive Center and ADE in assessing the current website ecosystem and identifying strategic priorities for a future redesign. Support will include discovery sessions, a technology review, search engine optimization (SEO) and AI search compatibility audits, a brand audit, stakeholder interviews or focus groups, an audience survey, and a staffing audit to clarify roles and workflows for website maintenance and content coordination.
Desired Outcomes
The desired outcome is a clear, actionable path forward for a future website redesign that supports consistent content workflows, stronger coordination across IT and Communications teams, and improved access to public-facing information. Over time, this work is intended to help ADE maintain reliable, up-to-date website content; strengthen engagement with families and educators; and support more effective access to information that helps students, families, and education professionals.
