Building School-Community Partnerships for Mental Health Supports and Services

Mental health and well-being significantly impact students' academic performance, social interactions, and school engagement. To improve mental health initiatives and support, schools can enhance their effectiveness by collaborating with community organizations and agencies.

This action guide, authored by NCC’s Nanmathi Manian and Southwest Comprehensive Center's Chelsea Sorensen, outlines how school-community partnerships can facilitate the implementation of crucial mental health services. It provides practical steps for schools, local educational agencies (LEAs), and state educational agencies (SEAs) to promote successful collaboration between educational institutions and communities.
