What We Do: What We Do
The Southwest Comprehensive Center is dedicated to enhancing educational practices and student outcomes across Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas—serving over 7.6 million K-12 students—more than 14% of the national student population.
Building on the successes of Westat's 2019-2024 Region 14 Comprehensive Center (Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas) and WestEd's 2019-2024 Region 13 Comprehensive Center (Oklahoma, New Mexico, and The Bureau of Indian Education), we have established strong partnerships with educational agencies to implement impactful capacity-building projects.
Our mission is to encourage collaboration, streamline efforts, and deepen our services to state, regional, and local educational agencies. Together, we seek to improve instructional quality for all students, close achievement gaps, and expand educational opportunities.
